Analysis and visualisation of biological data is a challenging task. In this talk I offer several topics connected to functional motives in proteins and DNA methylation. Proteins ability to react with different chemical compounds often depends on a small fragment (peptide motif). This type of motifs are especially important in immune reactions. The first task is connected to peptide motif finding. The remaining tasks are connected to DNA methylation -- a secondary mechanism for encoding information into DNA, which plays a prominent role in cell differentation and cancer development.
