The international workshop’s aim is to advance the multidisciplinary study of the linkages among religion, policies and law in post‐communist countries of Eastern Europe. The complex interplay among European and national law, and law, policy and religion at the levels of nation and the European Union is approached from jurisprudential and social-scientific perspectives by 20 scholars from Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, the UK and the US.
James T. Richardson, Professor of Sociology and Judicial Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno and distinguished scholar of religion and law, will deliver the keynote speech on “The Role of the Courts in the Social Construction of Religious Freedom in Central and Eastern Europe”.
