This lesson picks up where the past lesson "How the EU functions?" left us at. It focuses on the other important institutions that make up the frame of the EU's image, such as, the European Central Bank, the European Court of Auditors, the Economic and Social Committee or the Committee of the Regions. The discussions deal with the national agencies role in these institutions actions and the EU policy influence and authority fields (i.e. labour market policy, energy, agricultural, monetary policies or humanitarian aid, etc) and the outcome of all this policies, strategic fields and law mapped out in the EU's competences. Is EU just a monitor or does it really have a saying in all the decision-making and policy area coordination? Lecturer: Kristian Lau Nielsen. Lecture is filmed in autumn 2010.
