John Wylie is Associate Professor of Cultural Geography at the University of Exeter, United Kingdom.
His main research area is cultural geographies of landscape, embodiment and performance. Applying the notions of materiality, embodied practice and perception, his research considers intertwinings of self and landscape (culture and nature) through focusing upon their performance via everyday practices such as walking and visualising. His other current research interests include spatial theory and philosophy, cultures of travel and exploration, and spectral geographies. His is the author of the book Landscape (2007).
